Faisal Umar

MSC Accounting, Finance and Regulations | AI Researcher |ML Enthusiast | Fintech | IEEE Researcher

I am Faisal Umar, a researcher and applied AI developer working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, finance, and real-world decision systems. My work focuses on building practical, explainable, and responsible AI solutions for financial risk analysis, fraud detection, portfolio optimisation, and operational automation.

Unlike purely academic or theoretical models, I design systems that are usable in real business environments, where data is imperfect, decisions are time-sensitive, and transparency is essential. My projects combine machine learning, financial theory, and explainable AI to ensure that automated decisions can be understood, trusted, and audited.

I have developed and deployed AI systems for financial crime detection, inventory automation, investment analysis, and credit risk modelling, and I actively share my work through open-source projects, research publications, and professional platforms. My long-term goal is to contribute to global innovation in FinTech and Responsible AI by building tools that strengthen financial integrity, efficiency, and transparency.

Mission

My mission is to create AI systems that solve real financial and operational problems while remaining transparent, ethical, and practically usable. I aim to bridge the gap between advanced machine learning research and real-world deployment by building solutions that decision-makers can trust and regulators can audit.

Through my work, I seek to:

• Strengthen financial integrity through AI-driven fraud detection and risk analysis
• Promote responsible and explainable AI in financial systems
• Enable data-driven decision-making for businesses and institutions
• Make advanced AI accessible through lightweight, cost-effective tools

Vision

My vision is to become a leading contributor to the global ecosystem of AI-driven financial innovation, where artificial intelligence enhances trust, resilience, and fairness in financial systems.

I envision a future where:

• AI decisions in finance are fully explainable and accountable
• Financial crime detection is proactive rather than reactive
• Investment and risk systems combine data science with human understanding
• AI supports sustainable and inclusive financial growth

Through continuous research, innovation, and open collaboration, I aim to contribute to building AI systems that not only perform well technically but also create meaningful impact for businesses, regulators, and society.
